Edible oil shop sealed in Dhaka

The commerce ministry and the executive magistrate of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection jointly raided a wholesale edible oil shop at Shaheed Faruk Road in Dhaka’s South Jatrabari on Saturday, Mar 5, 2022. The officials imposed a fine of Tk 200,000 on the owner and sealed the shop over different irregularities that include selling soybean oil to retailers at prices higher than that fixed by the government, storing the products in an unhygienic environment and failing to display a price list of products.
