A Cox’s Bazar court has sentenced two ex-police personnel -- former Teknaf OC Pradip Kumar Das and Liakat Ali -- to death for the murder of Sinha Md Rashed Khan, a retired army major. On Jul 31, 2020, Sinha was killed by police fire near an APBn checkpost in Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive. OC Pradip attempted to cover up the killing as a ‘gunfight’, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
