Student protests intensify

The movement began with demands of a 50 percent discount on buses for students and intensified after Notre Dame College student Nayeem Hasan was run over by a city corporation garbage truck. The death of SSC candidate Md Mainuddin Islam, another victim of a road accident in Rampura on Monday night, further stoked the fury of students.
