‘Strict lockdown’ begins

Bangladesh has imposed a nationwide seven-day ‘strict lockdown’ to curb a surge in coronavirus cases and deaths. The roads in Dhaka were largely clear on Thursday morning, as security forces were deployed to major intersections to enforce the new restrictions.
