Delayed flower cultivation at Sabdi

Sabdi, a village in Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila, is well known for flower production. The residents believe it is the largest supplier of flowers to Dhaka. The farmers think the soil of the area is more suitable than any other place in the country for growing flower plants. They have just begun cultivating flowers this season after floodwaters from the Brahmaputra were late to recede. In the past years, they harvested flowers in January.
