Bangladesh has built cluster villages on the Bhasan Char island in Noakhali’s Hatia for 100,000 Rohingya people. In the first batch, 1,642 refugees have moved to the remote island. They were among more than 745,000 Rohingya who fled Myanmar in 2017 and took refuge in Cox’s Bazar camps following a military-led crackdown that the United Nations said was executed with genocidal intent.
