Daily Sun celebrates eighth anniversary

The Daily Sun newspaper has celebrated its eighth anniversary through a get-together of readers and well-wishers.

Politicians, diplomats, editors and academics joined the celebrations at its head office in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital on Wednesday, the English daily said in a media release.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was chief guest while State Minister for Information Tarana Halim and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir were special guests on the occasion.

Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Sringla and Brazilian Ambassador Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior also attended the programme.

Among others, Daily Sun Publisher Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Managing Director Abul Kalam Azad, and Daily Sun Executive Editor Shiabur Rahman, were present.
