PK Balachandran joins bdnews24.com as Sri Lanka correspondent

PK Balachandran, a senior Indian journalist, will join bdnews24.com, Bangladesh’s first online news provider, as its Sri Lanka correspondent.

The veteran journalist has lived and worked in Colombo for nearly two decades.

He will provide news reports on developments in the neighbouring island nation besides writing news analyses and columns on wider issues from South Asia.

Balachandran brings years of experience at India’s national newspapers, including 13 years at the Hindustan times, nine years at The New Indian Express, and two at The Indian Express, to his new position.

He has also worked as a stringer for such reputed international news organisations as The Economist, the BBC Tamil Service and Reuters.

Balachandran is also the honorary consultant editor of newsin.asia, a Colombo-based website on South Asian affairs.
