Earlier, only users of Banglalion, one of Bangladesh’s internet service providers, were facing this problem.

Numerous frustrated readers have been calling bdnews24.com offices since Thursday to complain after failing to access the bilingual site.

Many people also called on Saturday and said they were unable to access bdnews24.com.

One of them, BUET student Talibur Rahman, who uses a Banglalion connection, said he could not enter the site since Thursday afternoon.

He said, "When I couldn't access bdnews24.com using Banglalion, I tried BUET's broadband connection. But that idea failed too."

"I usually check bdnews24.com only for online news."

Rahman wanted to know why bdnews24.com was blocked and when he would be able to access the site.

On Saturday noon, bdnews24.com Madaripur Correspondent Ripon Chandra Mallik said he was also unable to access the site using the local broadband connection.

"Some of my journalist friends told me over phone that they too could not enter bdnews24.com using broadband internet connection," he said.

Many Banglalion users since Thursday complained that they were unable to access the website.

The internet service provider's customer care centre claimed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) had asked it to ‘block’ the leading news portal.

But a top BTRC official could not say if any such directive was given to Banglalion.
