Photography exhibition on Zainul's life begins at DU

To celebrate the 91st birth anniversary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, pioneer of modern fine arts in the country and founder of the Institute of Fine Art (IFA) of DU, a photography exhibition on the life and work of the artist began at Zainul Gallery of the IFA Thursday.
Dhaka, Dec 29 (BDNEWS) – To celebrate the 91st birth anniversary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, pioneer of modern fine arts in the country and founder of the Institute of Fine Art (IFA) of DU, a photography exhibition on the life and work of the artist began at Zainul Gallery of the IFA Thursday.
Vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Prof SMA Faiz inaugurated the three-week exhibition in the morning.
Zainul's wife Jahanara Abedin, artist Prof Rafiqun Nabi and Shishir Kumar Bhatyacharia were present at the opening ceremony.
The IFA, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bangladesh National Museum and Bengal Foundation have jointly organised the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm everyday till 18 January with a recess from January 6 to 14 for Eid vacation.
