“I feel bad. He should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian [work],” veteran actor Jaya Bachchan told IANS.

Actor Rani Mukherji extended her support to Khan saying, “I always say this, my love will always be with him.”

Most of the celebrities commented that Khan is paying the price for being a celebrity while some refused to accept that he has done anything wrong.

"I know for a fact that @BeingSalmanKhan has not killed the #BlackBuck. I am 100 percent sure he will be declared innocent finally, " tweeted Priya Gupta of T Series.

Khan, known as a good human being and a helpful member in the film fraternity, evoked the emotions of other celebrities, some of whom ended up questioning the judicial system.

Raj Kundra, a British businessman married to Indian actor Shilpa Shetty, questioned the “archaic laws in India that really need to be changed”.

Khan “doesn’t deserve this at all! Ridiculous,” Kundra wrote on the social media.

“Andha Kanoon!!!,” or the blind law, actor Kamya Punjabi summed up her emotion in two words.

However, other celebrities expressed their faith in the judiciary and hoped Khan will get justice.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai said he was “extremely shocked” to hear the conviction by a sessions judge’s court but he said he has full trust in the Indian judiciary which has “many other doors to appeal for final justice whatsoever”.

A Jodhpur court convicted the Bollywood icon and sentenced him to five years in jail in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case on Thursday while other co-accused actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre have been acquitted.
