A Myanmar beauty queen says she has been stripped of her title over a video clip she made on the ongoing violence in Rakhine.
In the graphic video posted last week, Shwe Eain Si accused Rohingya militants of spreading violence, said a report by the BBC.
The 19-year-old, who was crowned Miss Grand Myanmar earlier this year, did not mention the Myanmar army’s activities in Rakhine, where it has been accused of conducting “ethnic cleansing”.
Her title was revoked by the pageant’s organisers on Sunday, for breaching contract rules and not behaving like a role model.

In a statement posted on her Facebook page, “Yes, Shwe Eain Si made a video about the reign of terror brought about by the Arsa [Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army] militants in Rakhine state, but that was hardly qualified as a failure to project a decent image of a pageant contestant," she said.
Shwe Eain Si said that she "is obliged as a citizen of this country to use her fame to speak out the truth for her nation".
