“We unanimously agreed that Shakib Khan has been making derogative comments about film directors in the media,” said filmmaker Badiul Islam Khokon, reading out a statement after the meeting at the BFDC offices on Saturday.

“So every organisation related to the film industry has decided to not take part in his shootings or sound dubbings for an indefinite period," he added.

The directors in the their meeting also decided to take legal action against director Shamim Ahmed Roni for still shooting the film ‘Rongbaz’ with Shakib despite their boycott decision.

The film star has been at the centre of controversy after his longtime co-star Apu Biswas exposed their nine years of secret marriage on a live television show, bringing with her to the studio their six-month-old son.
