Stunt team pays Jackie Chan surprise visit during tribute

Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan may have received his Honorary Oscar from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for his decades of work in movies, but he did not get there alone.

The Jackie Chan Stunt Team, a group of stuntmen and martial artists who Chan calls ‘brothers’, has worked alongside him for forty years. Watch as the Stunt Team, some of whom have worked with him since 1977, surprise the movie star for a tearful reunion in a video uploaded by a Facebook user:

 

As Chan himself says:

“For forty years, we’ve been through thick and thin. Fractured bones, broken limbs. Sent to a hospital at 5 or 6 in the morning. No one sees that at the theatre. Even as I receive the Academy Honorary Award, this Oscar is shared among all of us.”
