Bowlers Akila Dananjaya and Dilruwan Perera ran through the batsmen, taking Bangladesh’s last five wickets for only three runs while an unbeaten Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38*) looked on from the non-striker’s end. Dananjaya’s three wickets were his first in Test matches.

Suranga Lakmal, who took three wickets during Bangladesh’s innings, started Saturday by bowling out wicket-keeper batsman Liton Das.

Sri Lanka had also struggled at bat, but a 68 from Kusal Mendis and a 56 from Roshen Silva had carried the team to 222 in the first innings. Abdur Razzak and Taijul Islam had taken four wickets each.

Sri Lanka lead by 112 runs as the second Test enters its third innings.
