His previous best was 443, which he achieved this January following a Test against New Zealand at Christchurch.
The boost from the Dhaka Test may take him beyond the reach of India’s Ravindra Jadeja, who Shakib has been battling for the top spot. The difference between the two has now increased from 1 to 59 rating points.
