Afghanistan arrive in Dhaka with three legspinners

The Afghanistan cricket team have arrived in Dhaka with three legspinners for their three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

A 17-strong squad set foot at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

The Afghans flew in with 18-year-old legspinner Rashid Khan along with spinning allrounders Samiullah Shenwari and Rahmat Shah, who played for Mohammedan in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

The squad also includes three uncapped players – teenagers Karim Janat, Ihsanullah Janat and Naveen-ul-Haq.

Noor Ali Zadran, Javed Ahmadi, Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran were among the exclusions from the ODI squad that toured Scotland and Ireland in July this year.

Afghanistan will play a warm-up match against BCB XI in Fatullah on Friday. The first ODI will then be played on Sep 25.
