He insists he always plays for the advantage of the team.

Sabbir cracked a career-best 80 off 54 balls to lift his team to a competitive 147 for 7 which Bangladesh successfully defended to seal their first ever Twenty20 victory against the islanders in Mirpur on Sunday.

The knock is Bangladesh's fourth highest in T20 Internationals.

In the press conference after the 23-run victory, Sabbir said the thought of reaching a century had not crossed his mind.

"I never think about my runs. I play for the team. If I score just one run in the team's victory, I am happy. I did not even think about a century today."

The 24-year old, who is a T20 specialist, is not thinking about playing in the Indian Premier League or other T20 tournaments abroad.

"I'm not really thinking about any leagues abroad. I am completely focussed on my skills now. I want to improve every day.

"I've been trying to contribute at No. 3. I hope I can maintain my consistency in the nest matches."

Bangladesh are now second in the points table behind India with two wins in three matches.
