The Tigers will take on the Scots at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on Thursday. The match is set to start on 4am Bangladesh time.

"Nothing is bigger than a win. Victory will boost confidence. The players will think of raising confidence personally. But to me winning comes first," he said at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Mashrafe asks his fellow teammates not to take the Scots lightly.

"Scotland can do well, they are not playing badly. They've played many matches in New Zealand which will give them an advantage. We must give our best."

The captain said they have no chance to relax after losing their last match against Sri Lanka.

"What is important is concentrating on this match. We must do what is necessary to win this match."

The Tigers' confidence are hit after a lacklustre show in their 92-run defeat against Sri Lanka. Mashrafe wants to recover from that with a win.

"We will get points if we win it and the boys will gain confidence. There is no alternative to winning and confidence comes through it."

After playing against Scotland, Bangladesh will face England and New Zealand in Pool A.
