The price has been doubled considering the Tigers’ last home series, against Sri Lanka.

The three matches, all day-nighters, are scheduled to be played on June 15, 17 and 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The timing of the series risks low attendance of spectators in the stadium due to the Fifa World Cup, which starts from June 13 in Brazil and will run for about a month.

Despite that fact, prices of tickets, apart from the BCB Hospitality Box, have gone up by at least 50 percent.

The Hospitality Box tickets will cost Tk 5000. Spectators will now have to shell out Tk 1500 for VIP Grand Stand tickets from Tk 1000.

Tickets for the International Gallery have been priced at Tk 500, the Shahid Mushtaq and the Shahid Jewel Stands Tk 300 each, North and South Gallery Tk 150.

The East Gallery tickets will bear the cheapest price tag – Tk 100.

Tickets will be available at the the United Commercial Bank (UCB) branches.

Mirza Mahmud Rafiqur Rahman, an additional managing director of UCB, at a press conference in Dhaka on Tuesday said tickets will be available at the Mirpur, Dhanmondi, Bashundhara, Bijoynagar and Uttara branches in Dhaka.

Additionally, its mobile banking utility, Ucash, will provide tickets.

Tickets will be bought from Thursday paying a 15 percent VAT on all purchases.

Jalal Yunus, chairman of the BCB Media and Communications Committee, and Kazi Inam Ahmed, chairman of the BCB Marketing and Commercial Committee, attended the news conference.
