I Sports new BPL franchise

I Sports Limited, an associate of Flora Telecom, bought the seventh team of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for $1.1 million in an auction at the Dhaka Club on Saturday.

I Sports Limited, an associate of Flora Telecom, bought the seventh team of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for $1.1 million in an auction at the Dhaka Club on Saturday.

"We are very happy. People of the country follow cricket deeply. We also want to play a role in progress of cricket," I Sports Chairman Mostafa Rafiqul Islam said.

"We want to bring in the best players of the world. I hope we will be able to build a superb team," he said.

He also expressed his wish to name the team as 'Rangpur Riders'.

"We want to add Indian batting luminaries Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Robin Singh to our team," he added.

SN Sports and Haque Brothers were the other companies that made offers. SN Sports were disqualified and Haque Brothers bid $1 million.
