The eight others who retook the test last Friday could not pass the hurdle this time, according to the results published on Monday.
Of the 18,463 students who had passed the first test marred by question leak allegations, 16,181 took the fresh test and 9,886 or 61.1 percent have passed.
The Criminal Investigation Department or CID of police found 22 candidates involved in the leak during investigation, social sciences faculty Dean Professor Sadeka Halim told bdnews24.com.
They were on the merit list between 145 and 10,315 in the results of the first test held on Oct 12.
Jahid Hasan Akash, the candidate who topped the merit list of the first ‘Gha’ unit test, but failed the ‘Ga’ unit test, did not appear for the fresh test.
Three others who had been among the 30 top scorers of the first ‘Gha’ unit test have skipped the fresh test.
The CID, however, has not included their names on the list of suspects.
Prof Sadeka said they were happy with the results of the fresh test.
“The positions of those who had been on top of the merit list have remained almost unchanged,” she said.
A total of 1,615 students who have passed the fresh test will finally be enrolled after viva at different departments under the faculties of social sciences, business administration, arts and on some conditions, science.
