Canadian University of Bangladesh celebrates two years of achievements

The Canadian University of Bangladesh has celebrated two years of operations in higher education.

It hosted a dinner in The Westin Hotel Dhaka in honour of all the stakeholders on Saturday “to both glance back and leap forward”, the university said in a media release on Sunday.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Préfontaine, and the founding chairman of the university’s board of trustees, Dr Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, joined the event.

The guests commended the university for its “forward thinking initiatives, notably tutorial classes, international credit transfer, job placement agreements and generous stipends and scholarships”, according to the release.

Prof MA Arafat, chief adviser to the university’s board of trustees, Prof Emeritus Dr AK Azad, honorary adviser to the board, its Executive Chairman Shahnul Hasan Khan, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mahfuzul Islam, and Registrar Md Asaduzzaman Subhani, among other dignitaries, and the students also attended the event.
