THE sent a letter to Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman, confirming the position of the university in a congratulatory letter on Tuesday, the university said in a media release.
According to the release, THE will release the Asia University Ranking at Asia Universities Summit to be held on Feb 5-7 at Shenzhen city in China.
Speaking to bdnews24.com later in the night, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said he was glad at the recognition by influential London-based THE ranking.
He hoped Dhaka University would be in a ‘good’ position in the final rankings as the university's exact position in 305 is not yet revealed.
“We are lagging in many indicators, but ahead in many others like spending per student. That’s why I hope Dhaka University will get a good position among the Asian universities,” he said.
