Over 40,000 clear medical college entry test against 9,500 seats

The government has published the results of this year’s medical college admission test, with a total of 41,132 candidates clearing it.

Out of the successful students, 3,318 will get admission to the 30 government medical colleges and 6,205 to 64 private ones.

Health Secretary Serajul Huq Khan told bdnews24.com that the results were available on the website of the Directorate General of Health Services or DGHS.  

The DGHS published the results based on the grade points of the SSC and HSC tests and the admission test scores.

On Friday, 82,856 students took the admission test with a same multiple choice question paper in 20 centres throughout the country.

The pass mark was 40 and the student who got highest mark scored 90.5, according to health ministry Senior Information Officer Parikkhit Datta Chowdhury.

For the first time, the authorities have taken off 5 marks from the score of those who have taken the exam for the second time.

The admission process based on the merit list will start on Oct 17 and end on Oct 28.

The dental college admission test will be held on Nov 10.
