Rajuk school tops Dhaka board

304 of 339 examinees from the school achieve GPA-5

Dhaka, Dec 28 (bdnews24.com) – Rajuk Uttara Model School and College has secured the top position in Dhaka Education Board in the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination, notching up 92.86 points under the ranking system introduced this year.
All 339 students of the school cleared the exams, with as many as 304 attaining the maximum of GPA-5.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, who handed over a copy of the results to prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday noon, revealed details of the results later in the day.
The overall pass rate in JSC examination this year is 82.67 percent – up from last year's 71.34 percent. The success rate in Dhaka board is 81.45 percent.
A total of 12,021 Dhaka board students secured GPA-5, according to the results released.
This year, the Dhaka Education Board authorities have prepared a list of top-20 institutions based on five parameters: rate of regular students out of registered students, pass rate, rate of GPA-5 achievers, number of candidates and average GPA of the institution.
Under these criteria, Rajuk school was followed by Motijheel Ideal School and College, with 87.08 points. Mirzapur Cadet College with 86.98 points and Viqarunnisa Noon School and College with 86.56 points came third and fourth, respectively, in this list.
The other institutions in the list are Dhaka Residential School and College (83.15 points), Mymensingh Girls Cadet College (83.13 points), Mymensingh Bidyamoyi Girls High School (83.63 points), Tangail Cantonment Public School and College (82.54 points), St Joseph High School (82.40 points), Mymensingh Zilla School (80.08 points), Holy Cross Girls High School (79.91 points), Bangladesh International School of Dhaka (79.70 points), Motijheel Govt Girls High School (79.31 points), Motijheel Govt Boys High School (78.60 points), Shamsul Haque High School, Dhaka (78.49 points), A K M High School, Narasingdi (78.18 points), Uttara High School (78.04 points), Bindubasini Govt High School (77.73 points), Govt Laboratory High School (77.71 points) and Safiuddin Sarker Academy and College, Gazipur (77.64 points).
