During the meeting on Sunday, they discussed BIDA’s role in encouraging both local and international investments in Bangladesh.

BIDA is now working on a series of reforms to upgrade Bangladesh’s position in World Bank’s ease of doing business index from the current 176th.

The World Bank team comprised adviser Andrew Stone of the Independent Evaluation Group and senior consultant Amitav Banerjee.

The BIDA chairman told them that Bangladesh was a “very suitable” country for investments.

“In the last 10 years, a lot of developments happened in the field of infrastructure, energy and power that made the country a role model for others,” he was quoted as saying in a media statement.
