Mobile number portability services begin Oct 1
The much-awaited mobile number portability or MNP service is finally set to begin on Oct 1.

“Preparations have been completed,” Mabroor Hossain, managing director of Infozillion BD Teletech, told bdnews24.com.
Telecom regulator BTRC will announce the service in a press conference on Oct 1, according to Infozillion BD Teletech assigned to provide the service.
“The network is ready to give MNP to all operators,” said Hossain.
Once the service is introduced, the subscribers will be able to switch operators by paying Tk 50 without having to change the number.
The process would take a maximum of 72 hours. If users again want to change operators, they will have to wait for 90 days to migrate to another network.
Infozillion BD Teletech, a Bangladesh-Slovenia joint venture, received the licence to offer MNP services last year.
