Independent TV, IFIC Bank launch Tk 10m quiz show

Private broadcaster Independent TV is set to air the quiz show at 10pm every Friday and Saturday from Oct 12, in partnership with IFIC Bank.

Any Bangladeshi citizen aged 18 or above can register online between Sep 19 and Sep 27.

M Shamsur Rahman, CEO and editor-in-chief of Independent TV, and Shah A Sarwar, managing director and CEO of IFIC Bank, made the announcement jointly in Dhaka on Thursday.

Each episode of the quiz Bangladesh Jiggasha will entitle participants to different sums of prize money. All the awards, put together, will amount to Tk 17.7 million. In addition, the spectators will also receive attractive gifts.

The online registration form has already been opened for the participants on the web page www.bangladeshjiggasha.com, Independent TV’s website www.independent24.com and its Facebook page www.facebook.com/IndependentTVNews.

Candidates accomplishing the online round will qualify for the divisional round of the quiz. Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Rangpur will host their respective divisional rounds simultaneously.

A total of 64 participants, eight from each division, will qualify for the ‘Bangladesh Jiggasha’ stage.

The champion will be entitled to Tk 10 million and the first runner-up Tk 2.5 million. Second and third runners-up will receive Tk 1.5 million and Tk 500,000 respectively.

Each semi-finalist will get Tk 200,000 and each quarter finalist Tk 100,000. Second-round qualifiers will get Tk 50,000 each and first-round qualifiers Tk 25,000 each.
