It also says it will reimburse the customers affected by the disruption.

Customers of the largest mobile phone operator of Bangladesh had been facing problems in My GP, Flexi Plan and pack activation through web channel and USSD services from Saturday.

“There has been no problem in Grameenphone’s voice and data services,” GP Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer Yasir Azman said in a Facebook live post around 11am on Sunday.

“Good news is USSD is working now and all the applications are being updated,” he said.

"Select customer services were affected due to a technical disruption on our system. All services are back online thanks to the earnest efforts of the GP team,” GP Head of Communications Talat Kamal told bdnews24.com in an email.

“Any loss of data and voice carry forward volume, due to the incident, will be fully reimbursed to each account at an earliest.

“Grameenphone is very grateful to its customers for their patience during this inadvertent disruption and sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to them," he added.

With a customer base of around 68.6 million connections as of May, according to the BTRC, GP is the largest among Bangladesh’s telecom operators.
