The demand was jointly made by the DSE Brokers Association or DBA and Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association or BMBA in a media briefing at the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.

After apparently being worried over the continuous fall of share prices in recent months, they put forward their demand to the Bangladesh Bank for consideration.

They blamed the liquidity crisis for the market’s increasingly downfall. To overcome the liquidity shortage, leaders of DBA and BMBA urged the central bank to calculate the bank’s investment taking purchasing value of shares into account rather than market value of shares.
