The revision, to be effective from Monday, came after the winter wedding season, when the jewellers face high demand.
Bangladesh Jewellers' Association General Secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwal, however, told bdnews24.com the price has been readjusted in line with the global market price.
From Monday, the best quality 22-carat gold would be sold at Tk 50,752 per Bhori in the local market, he added.
The prices shot up over Tk 50,000-mark after successive hikes in January. The jewellers had last raised the price on Jan 25.
The Jewellers' Association's new gold prices per Bhori are as follows:
22-carat Tk 50,752 (from Tk 52,255)
21-carat Tk 48,697 (from Tk 49,922)
18-carat Tk 43,623 (from Tk 44,673)
Traditional gold Tk 26,419 (from Tk 27,410)
