Jubilant FoodWorks will be the major shareholder owning 51 percent of the new company, Jubilant Golden Harvest.

Bangladesh’s Golden Harvest will hold the remaining 49 percent, Jubilant FoodWorks said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

Jubilant FoodWorks, which is a master franchise holder of American restaurant chain Domino's Pizza in India, has exclusive rights to develop and operate the brand in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal as well.

Domino's Pizza also offers sandwiches, pastas and chicken wing in its outlets across the world.

Golden Harvest is involved in processed food, commodities, dairy, IT, logistics, real estate and insurance.

“As one of the fastest growing economies, we believe that Bangladesh offers huge potential for Domino's. We are delighted to partner with Golden Harvest Group to introduce Domino's Pizza in Bangladesh,” the statement quoted Jubilant FoodWorks Chairman Shyam Bhartia and Co-Chairman Hari Bhartia as saying.

Golden Harvest Managing Director Rajeeb Samdani said in the statement that the partnership has huge potential. “Pizza is a growing food segment in the country as the consumers are opening up to more experimentation in food especially global cuisines.”

Bangladesh presents a ‘great growth opportunity’ being the eighth most populous country and a young demographic, according to Jubilant Foodworks CEO Pratik Pota.

The company did not disclose the fund to be invested in the new venture or when the brand will be launched in Bangladesh.
