The superstore chain’s chairman has been also slapped a fine of Tk 50,000 in the each of the cases.
A group director of Rahimafrooz, Rahim also serves as the chairman of several concerns of the business group.
He was sent to Dhaka Central Jail after the verdict was announced, Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbub Sobhani said.
“The lawsuits were filed in 2008 and both of them involved adulterated ghee brought from the superstore,” Sobhani, who presides the Pure Food Court, told bdnews24.com.
