Jet was the first privately-owned Indian carrier to offer direct air connections between Bangladesh and India, with its first flight 9W 274, leaving Kolkata for Dhaka for the first time on Dec 16, 2007.

“It is indeed a joyous and momentous occasion for us to celebrate 10 years of Jet Airways’ successful operations to Dhaka,” Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal said in a statement.

“Air travel between Bangladesh and India has been growing at a steady pace and we’re happy that we have been able to further trade, tourism and people to people relationships between the two countries.”

Jet Airways has announced a 10-day offer allowing Bangladeshi customers to book tickets at special prices to 10 destinations – Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Toronto. Customers will receive a flat 10 percent discount on prevailing fares between Dec 21 and Dec 30, 2017.

Members of the JetPrivilege programme will also receive double the air miles for all bookings in that period.

“In ten years of operations, Jet Airways has flown over 2 million guests between Bangladesh and India,” said Jet Airways Bangladesh Country Manager Raj Kumar Bhattacharya.

“A strong annual growth of more than 10% in passenger and cargo revenues testifies to the growing business, trade and cultural links between the two countries. With its well-differentiated product and service offering, Jet Airways has clearly established itself as the carrier of choice for its guests.”

Jet Airways provides non-stop and one-stop service from Bangladesh to 64 cities in India, the Gulf, the far East and Europe. It also offers connectivity to 450 destinations across the globe through strategic partner Etihad Airways and agreements with other leading airlines.
