Crown Cement donates Tk 500,000 for rehabilitation of paralysed

MI Cement Factory Ltd, with its brand name Crown Cement, has donated Tk 500,000 to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed or CRP as part of corporate social responsibilities.

Md Alamgir Kabir, additional managing director of Crown Cement, handed over the cheque to Valerie Ann Taylor, founder and coordinator of CRP, at a programme in the head office of Crown Cement in Dhaka last Wednesday, according to a press release from the firm.

Alamgir Kabir said that CRP under the leadership of Valerie has been playing a great role in providing physiotherapy, rehabilitation and socio-economic safety to the physically challenged people of Bangladesh for more than 40 years, the release says.

“In continuation of the last year, we are providing the financial assistant to the CRP to engage us with the laudable activities of CRP,” the release quoted him as saying.

He added that Crown Cement Group would continue this support in the coming years too, the release says.

Crown Cement Group Chief Executive Officer Masud Khanand and other senior officials of the company were present at the function.
