The government will hold talks with garment workers' leaders on Thursday to cap a recent spate of unrest in the readymade garment industry.
Labour and Employment Affairs Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju has convened the meeting at the Secretariat.

The initiative follows the shutting down of ready-made garment factories at Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Wednesday, in the face of a fresh wave of labour unrest.
Police and garment workers clashed at Gazipur and Savar’s Hemayetpur on Wednesday.
At least 25 factories were kept shut as over 100 people were injured in the violence.
Around 40 factories were closed after at least 35 people were injured in clashes at Gazipur Sadar Upazila’s Kashimpur and Konabarhi.
