The agency acted against 34 business entities in drives across Bangladesh on Tuesday for selling food products without licence, using unverified weighing machines and cheating in measurement, according to a BSTI media release.

In Dhaka, BSTI started cases against Alibaba’s outlet at Tejturi Bazar and Muslim’s at Naya Paltan for selling yogurt without getting licence from them.

Al Arabian Cake and Sweets at Pantha Path and Samabay Bazar at Darussalam in Mirpur were also charged for not mentioning weight, price, and production and expiry dates on labels of its products.
