Fire burns down 50 houses in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya refugee camp

A fire has gutted 50 homes in a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhia Upazila.

The fire started at around 1pm on Wednesday in the Turkey hill area of the Kutupalong No 5 Rohingya Refugee Camp, said Ukhia Police OC Md Abul Khair.

The police could not immediately determine the cause of the fire. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

Three units of the fire service doused the flames said the OC, adding, “Fifty houses in the Rohingya refugee camp were burnt down in the fire.”
