“We appreciate the strong role of the UK in the Rohingya crisis. I hope UK together with the international community will remain active in all possible means individually and collectively to create conditions inside Myanmar for Rohingya to return,” he said while speaking at a reception on Monday.

British High Commissioner Robert Dickson hosted the reception at the chancery for the Queen Elizabeth II, the world’s oldest and longest reigning living monarch, on her 93rd birthday.

Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1926, in Bruton Street, central London and became queen in 1952 at the age of 25, meaning she has now reigned for more than 67 years.

She has an official birthday in June which is publicly marked with a large parade of soldiers through central London, known as Trooping the Colour.

The high commissioner reiterated the UK’s position to support Bangladesh in every way as the country is graduating to a middle-income one from the LDC.

He also wished success to the Bangladesh cricket team in the upcoming World Cup which will be held in Britain.
