She is headed to Bangkok at the invitation of her Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin
A Milad Mahfil will be organised at the Army Central Mosque, Dhaka Cantonment after Asr prayers, according to the family.
There will be arrangements for women as well, a family source said.
Rabeya Khatun died at the age of 102 on Apr 15 from old-age complications.
In a brief memorial speech at her Namaz-e-Janaza on Tuesday, Lt General Shamsul said: “My mother lived a long life with love and respect from people. She was neutral in nature. She always taught us to do something for humanity and the country. We follow the path of my mother. Pray for the salvation of my mother’s departed soul.”
She is survived by four sons, three daughters, and a host of relatives.
