In addition to the app, advance tickets for journeys during Eid holidays will be sold at five places other than Kamalapur Railway Station.

Railways Minster Nurul Islam Sujon briefed the media about the initiatives after a meeting at the station on Thursday.

“There have been complaints over train ticketing system for long,” the minister admitted and hoped the use of technology will ease the hassle for tickets at counters.

Besides Kamalapur, Eid train tickets were already being sold at the Airport Station and Gazipur.

The railway authorities are now in contact with the Dhaka University to arrange sale of the advance tickets at the TSC, the minister said.

The advance tickets will also be available at Fulbaria and Mirpur Police Centre, according to Sujon.

“There will be no need for crowding the stations or waiting overnight,” he said.
