DUCSU VP Nur takes car to meet PM Hasina at Ganabhaban

The newly elected leaders of Dhaka University Central Students’ Council or DUCSU are meeting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Ganabhaban.

Following an invitation from Hasina, newly elected VP Nurul Haque Nur, who is also a leader of Bangladesh Council to Protect General Students' Rights, used a ride-sharing service to hire a car to the prime minister’s residence on Saturday afternoon.

Akthar Hossain, newly elected social affairs secretary of DUCSU, accompanied Nur as they left Dhaka University campus. Both of them were the elected leaders from two independent panels for the DUCSU polls.

Nur and Akhtar used a ride-sharing service to hire a car to the meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, quota protest leader Hasan Al Mamun told bdnews24.com.

The Bangladesh Chhatra League or BCL leaders who won in the polls left the campus aboard a student bus. 

BCL President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon accompanied General Secretary-elect Golam Rabbani and Assistant General Secretary-elect Saddam Hossain. Shovon, who also ran for the DUCSU vice president’s post, lost to Nur.

VP Nur and Akhter reached the Ganabhaban around 3:30 pm on Saturday.

Nur and Rabbani exchanged a hug after reaching the Ganabhaban, said Reazul Bashar, Prime Minister's Office Correspondent of bdnews24.com.

The leaders were accompanied by the other secretaries and members of the committee. There are a total of 259 student leaders, 234 from hall committees and 25 from DUCSU, met Hasina at Ganabhaban.
