Cleanup campaign in Savar

About 40 saints of the Church of God carried out street cleanup campaigns for a stretch of 2km in Savar on Mar 8, organisers have said in a statement.

Businessmen in the surrounding malls came out on the streets to take pictures in signs of encouragement.

Inspired by the campaign, one businessman said he would clean up the space in front of his shop every day and will keep the trash cans.

The Church of God, which has about 8,000 branches in 175 countries around the world, carries out a street cleanup campaign every month in several cities in Bangladesh, according to the statement.

For this month, the campaign will meander from Bandarban to Barishal through Chattagram.
