Girl, 5, allegedly raped by two teens in Panchagar

A 5-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by two teenaged boys in Panchagar’s Debiganj.

Her mother alleged the incident occurred at their home in Hakimpur Jendapara village under Pamuli union on Sunday.  

The mother went to visit her parents in the same neighbourhood and found her daughter lying on the floor of their home when she returned after sometime, she said.

The girl regained conscious later and told the mother that two boys, one 16 years old and the other 13 years, “did something bad to her”, according to the woman. 

The girl was admitted to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex when her condition deteriorated in the night.

Abu Sayem, the resident medical officer at the health facility, told bdnews24.com that they admitted the girl after her guardians brought rape allegations.

“She is undergoing treatment now. She has been sent to Panchagar Modern General Hospital for medical tests,” he added.

Debiganj Police Station OC Rabiul Hasan Sarker said he has despatched a team to the village after hearing about the allegations.

“We’ve also called the guardians of the child to the police station. We will record a case once they complain,” he added.
