Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayeed dismissed the teacher’s bail petition and sent her to jail on Thursday.

Hena was a class teacher to Aritry. She was named alongside Principal Nazneen Ferdous and Morning Shift In-Charge Zinat Akhtar in the case filed over Aritry’s death.

The three accused teachers identified in the Ministry of Education’s probe were fired on Wednesday and had their MPOs revoked. The ministry sent a letter to the police and RAB to take the necessary legal actions against them. Police arrested Hasna Hena that night.

She was brought to court on Thursday and Detective Branch Inspector Kamrul Hossain Talukdar petitioned for her to be sent to jail.

Defence lawyers petitioned for her to be released on bail.

Police argued that she would flee if released on bail and interfere with the case investigation.

Defence lawyer Jahangir Alam petitioned for bail, stating that his client was not involved in the incident and that she had not been accused of anything by the plaintiffs.
