Sharsha Police Station OC M Moshiur Rahman said they found the body inside a sack lying on a banana grove in Kazirber village on Thursday morning.

The deceased, 28-year-old Zahidul Islam Zahid, was the manager of Benapole’s C&F Agent Sejuti Enterprise.

The OC said that Zahid gave 47-year-old Beauty Khatun, the wife of the ‘broker’ Jhoru, Tk 400,000 to make arrangements for him to go abroad. He was given the runaround and was later asked by Beauty to go to her house on Wednesday night to take back his money.

Beauty admitted during a police interrogation that the murder was pre-planned and that she had hired four hitmen from Jashore to carry it out. When Zahid arrived, he was taken to the bathroom and hacked to death with sharp weapons. His body was then placed in a sack and thrown away at a nearby banana grove.

The body of the deceased was recovered according to information given by Beauty, said Moshiur. Six people were detained for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Jhoru and Beauty were detained alongside their daughter Sumi Khatun, 29, Rahima Begum, 65, Ferdousi Begum, 37, and her son Al-Amin, 18 in connection with the case.
