Two die in Chattogram truck accident

Two people have been killed and a third was injured after a truck hit another truck in Chattogram.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Mirsarai Upazila’s Borotakia area in the early hours of Tuesday, said Sohel Sarker, sergeant of Zorargonj Highway Police Station.

The dead have been identified as 35-year-old Md Jahangir, a truck driver, and his assistant 35-year-old Abdur Rashid.

Badrul, 40, was taken to Mastan Nagar Health Complex after he was injured.

A Chattogram-bound truck rammed into another truck from behind, leaving two of them dead on the spot. Later, a team of firefighters recovered the bodies, sergeant Sohel told bdnews24.com. 

“A sand truck stopped by the roadside in Borotakia Bazar area and the driver came down from the truck. At that time, another truck hit it from behind after losing control. Three were trapped inside the truck as it was badly damaged,” Mirsarai Fire Service Senior Station Officer Rabiul Azam told bdnews24.com.
