Hasina held a meeting with the Saudi king in Riyadh before the luncheon on Wednesday.

King Salman welcomed Hasina at the terrace when the prime minister reached his palace.

He showed her to the meeting room and then to the dining room.

“I’ve never seen so much warmth and heartiness before,” a foreign ministry official, who has accompanied Hasina during four of her tours to the Gulf kingdom since 2012, said.

The king described the food items to Hasina.

Starting with a variety of hot and cold appetizers, the dishes included asparagus, gulf shrimp lemon tajine, harira soup, satya beef, grilled chicken breast, pumme puree, pumpkin thyme jus, and green beans stew.

The desserts included Saudi delight, Arabic sweets, mixed fruits and Om Ali.

The prime minister and her entourage are staying at the King Saud Palace in Riyadh.

Hasina is scheduled to perform Umrah on Thursday before ending her four-day tour at the invitation of the Saudi king.
