Transgender community of Jamalpur gets cow for Eid sacrifice from Hasina
The transgender community of Jamalpur has received a Tk 100,000 cow as gift from Sheikh Hasina for sacrifice on Eid-ul-Azha after texting the prime minister for a cattle.

Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir handed the cow and some cash for the cost of slaughtering to the Hijra community of the district on Monday afternoon, PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam said.
One of the transgender people of the community, ‘Moyuri’, sent the text to the prime minister in the morning, Ashraful said.
Hasina then ordered her Personal Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah to contact Moyuri and send them a cow, Ashraful said.
Tofazzel contacted Moyuri and came to know that there are 87 people in the transgender community in Jamalpur.
Tofazzel conveyed Hasina’s instructions to Ahmed Kabir later.
